Resident’s Network

Residents’ Networks (RNs) were set up in 2018 to promote greater social mixing between residents across all ages, races and all estates in Singapore. Like the Residents’ Committees (RC) and Neighbourhood Committees (NC), RNs promote neighbourliness, social cohesion and acts as a bridge between the people and the Government.

With it’s previous structure, Resident Committees (RC) govern districts with public estates, and Neighbourhood Committees (NC) on the other hand, in areas with private estates. However, with the increasing circumstance where these areas overlap, the People’s Association created the Resident’s Network (RN) to better integrate both systems, and with it better the way resources are organised.

Inspired by a High-5, a celebratory greeting from peer to peer. We looked at creating a brand mark with a similar effect. A friendly gesture, that open doors and create interactions for people of all walks of life.

As the (RN) connects both the (NC) and the (RC), the logo is designed with a collaborative effort in mind – for both the organisation, and the people it serves.

The logo is designed with a horizontal and vertical version, in order to ease usage in the various structures needed in Singapore estates.

The (RN) logo is designed, to be readily used with the (PA) logo.

The colours used in the (RN) logo allows consistency within the brand system.

Prior to the finalised logo, we explored a range styles that we felt could similarly convey the neighbourhood bond that we wanted to express. Two of these styles stood out. A brushed style that creates a flow to the logo, and connects the people within it; and a more structured style that clearly shows a High-5. In the end, we combined these two concepts to create the prevailing logo.

Guidelines are set to easily integrate our logo to the various neighbourhoods.
